About the Role
The Assistant Warehouse Manager will support the direction, coordination, and management of inventory, warehousing, shipping, and receiving functions at the Taylor, MI plant to ensure company objectives and production goals are met.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and managing warehouse, shipping, and receiving functions to meet company objectives and production goals.
- Work with the Senior Manager to assist, plan, and coordinate administrative functions as needed.
- Oversee all incoming and outgoing activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Review and complete shipping notices, bills of lading, orders, and other related documentation.
- Evaluate warehouse operations and processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend or implement changes.
- Ensure an effective maintenance program for machinery and the facility is in place and adhered to.
- Supervise staff, including designating work assignments, providing instruction, reviewing completed work, and contributing to performance appraisals.
- Provide ongoing oversight and training to increase staff knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety rules, guidelines, and procedures.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
- Eight or more years of large-scale warehouse management experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Logistics or a related field preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Supervisory experience and leadership skills required.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Mechanically inclined is preferred.
- Working knowledge of common computer programs.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks.
