Principle Duties And Responsibilities
- Serve as assistant volleyball coach with specific coaching responsibilities assigned by the head coach
- Attend practices, competitions, meetings, planning sessions, and other essential volleyball-related activities
- Aid the head coach in the administration and management of the volleyball program as assigned
- Participate in the recruitment of student-athletes
- Support the holistic development and positive student-athlete experience for members of the volleyball program
- Demonstrate professionalism and engage in professional development activities, including staying current with teaching techniques, strategies, and trends, attending professional meetings, and serving in leadership roles when appropriate
- Adhere to the rules, policies, and regulations established by Luther College, the conference, and the NCAA
- Support the mission, philosophy, and goals of Luther College and Division III athletics
- Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach
Athletic Department Responsibilities
- Assist with game day management and event operations as assigned
- Support scheduling, coordination, and supervision of student workers as needed
- Contribute to departmental operations and special projects based on the skill set of the candidate
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
Residence Life Responsibilities
- Serve as part of the on-call team for residence hall emergencies, including one weekday each week and one weekend per month
- Participate in weekly meetings and required semester trainings related to on-call responsibilities
- Support community development and student engagement efforts within the residence hall system
Education, Experience, And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
- 1–3 years of successful high school or college volleyball coaching experience preferred
- Experience with recruiting platforms, CRMs, or admissions collaboration preferred
- Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and friends of the college
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
