Assistant Vitamin/HBA Manager

Responsibilities

• Assist the Vitamin/HBA Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Vitamin/HBA team.
• Effectively coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Assist in leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience for customers.
• Ensure customers receive the best possible service and assistance with vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products to help them better understand and respond to their health and wellness issues.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of vitamins, supplements, and other health and body items in the department, providing guidance without “prescribing.”
• Assist in recruiting, hiring, developing, mentoring, and motivating the Vitamin team.
• Unload and sort through store deliveries.
• Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Vitamin team members follow these procedures.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age and have a minimum of 1 year of vitamin, homeopathy, or holistic experience with leadership duties; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have an outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact with customers.
• Possess good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction while maintaining a team environment.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department, including cleaning and dusting.
• Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations.
• Be willing to gain education on new products and alternative health.
• Have strong organization and prioritization skills.
• Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and climbing throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift, stack, and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 72”, for a distance up to 2 feet without mechanical assistance.
• Ability to move a ladder requiring a force up to 5 lbs., up to 2 hours, for a distance up to 25 feet.
• Able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 lbs. requiring a force up to 35 lbs., up to 2 hours, a distance up to 20 feet.
• Ability to walk up to 3 miles in an 8-hour shift.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
