About the role

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Patient Care Services supports the Vice President in planning, delivering, and evaluating top-tier care across the Medical Center and surrounding community. Operating at the intersection of strategy and execution, the AVP balances optimal clinical outcomes with professional staff development while continuously ensuring the organization's financial sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Drive department efficiency, execution, and execution speed by effectively managing budgets, optimizing labor and non-labor resources, and strategically scheduling staff to meet demand.
  • Ensure top-tier clinical care by establishing evidence-based practice standards, maintaining strict readiness for state and federal regulatory audits, and utilizing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) to exceed customer expectations.
  • Support the hospital’s broader mission by acting as a mentor and change agent, resolving conflicts constructively, and championing diverse workforce recruitment, development, and retention.

Requirements

  • Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New Jersey
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Master’s degree
  • Minimum of four years of progressive nursing administrative experience
