About the role

We are seeking an AVP Claims Account Manager (CAM) to join the National Accounts Casualty (NAC) Team within our Claims Division. In this role, you will actively manage and oversee assigned NAC business accounts for workers’ compensation, auto, and general liability claims written on a guaranteed cost basis, high deductible, and self-insured retention basis, including those handled by third-party administrators.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and oversight to staff handling workers’ compensation, auto liability, and general liability claims, including supervision of outsourced claims.
  • Lead, direct, and manage Claims staff with full accountability for talent management and succession planning aligned with corporate strategic direction.
  • Manage staff performance, implement development strategies, and identify training needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Risk Management, Actuarial, and other stakeholders to share knowledge on market trends, legal changes, portfolio management, and loss developments.
  • Develop and implement cost containment strategies, including managing allocated and unallocated expenses within Claims operations.
  • Assist in developing annual operational goals, objectives, and budgets for Claims.
  • Ensure accurate and timely case reserving.
  • Communicate effectively with Underwriters, brokers, and reinsurers on relevant claim developments.
  • Attend mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials as necessary.
  • Work with third-party administrators (TPAs) to ensure proper claims handling and service delivery.
  • Act as the Service Manager/Arch claims contact for all accounts written by NAC.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ direct supervision of employee performance management.
  • Minimum of 10–15 years’ experience overseeing and managing multi-line claims with a strong emphasis on auto liability, general liability, products, and professional liability, as well as exposure to workers’ compensation for high deductible and self-insured accounts.
  • Proper Adjuster Licenses in all applicable states.
  • Ability to handle high-severity claims.
  • Knowledge and expertise with multiple jurisdictions.
  • Willing and able to travel 25%.

Pay

Base salary ranges by location (as of posting):

  • Boston/Dallas/Atlanta: $95,800 – $148,700/year
  • Chicago: $111,300 – $172,700/year
  • LA/NYC/Seattle/Jersey City: $123,600 – $191,900/year

Total individual compensation (base salary, short- and long-term incentives) will consider factors such as geographic location, scope and responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability, specialization, and business needs. The role is incentive-eligible.
