The American Arbitration Association (AAA) seeks an experienced and strategic Assistant Vice President to supervise case management operations across its Consumer Division.

About the Role

This role is responsible for directing day-to-day case administration, ensuring quality service delivery aligned with AAA’s mission and standards, and advancing long-term operational goals in collaboration with division executives. The AVP will lead personnel, oversee budgets, ensure compliance with procedures, and serve as an advocate for dispute resolution in the business and legal communities. Additional responsibilities include mentoring arbitrators, promoting continuous improvement, and driving excellence in customer and panel relations.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement; candidates must reside at a U.S. location within 125 miles of their assigned office location.

Pay

Compensation ranges by location are as follows:

  • Charlotte, NC; Miami, FL; San Antonio, TX: $135,000 to $145,000
  • Atlanta, GA; Buffalo, NY; Dallas, TX; Detroit, MI; Fresno, CA: $140,000 to $150,000
  • Houston, TX; Johnston, RI; Minneapolis, MN: $145,000 to $155,000
  • Chicago, IL; Denver, CO; Philadelphia, PA; San Diego, CA; Voorhees, NJ: $155,000 to $165,000
  • Boston, MA; Los Angeles, CA: $160,000 to $170,000
  • New York City, NY; San Francisco, CA: $170,000 to $180,000

This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based incentive.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field
  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in the legal industry or court system
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered

Skills

  • Proven ability to apply independent judgment to complex issues
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting legal and procedural documentation
  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel) and familiarity with case management systems
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop teams and maintain focus in dynamic environments
  • Demonstrated adaptability with emerging technologies, including AI-related tools
