Assistant Vice President, Commercial Underwriting - SBA
What You'll Do
As a SBA Commercial Underwriter II - Business Banking, you'll be responsible for:
- Underwriting difficult loan requests and renewals for various Bank lending products.
- Building internal relationships by working with lending officers on credit matters and loans involving unusual situations or requiring close scrutiny.
- Reviewing for SBA eligibility, the loan structure, financial spreads, entity structures, collateral, market data and reports to understand inherent risks and prepare a recommendation to Credit Administration.
- Mentoring junior analysts in financial analysis, loan structure, appropriate covenant conditions, and identifying risks and tangible mitigating factors to credit risk.
- Performing SBA eligibility review.
- Performing special financial statement analyses, typically involving complex and interlocking relationships.
- Providing credit information and references for customers, loan officers, or other agencies as requested.
- Performing pre-qualification assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk of financing requests within the framework of Bank credit culture and current economic and industry trends.
- Gathering and analyzing all information necessary to present a financing request to senior management or Loan Committee for approval; meeting with existing or potential customers; visiting sites of loans; negotiating loan terms and conditions; referring and recommending acceptance to Credit Administration.
What You'll Need
- 4+ years of related SBA experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SBA SOPs.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and/or other commercial banking products and services.
