Position Highlights

The Assistant Vice President, Audit is responsible for leading the internal audit program at Endeavor Health, overseeing billing compliance and IT audits, and building an analytics function. They serve as the Chief Compliance Officer's deputy, reporting directly to the Corporate Compliance Committee and the Board's Audit, Compliance and Enterprise Risk (ACER) Committee.

What You Will Do

  • Internal Audit Leadership:

    • Lead the development and execution of a risk-based annual audit plan.
    • Establish, monitor, and respond to internal audit key performance indicators.
    • Ensure audit priorities align with corporate objectives and enterprise risk management planning.
    • Responsible for audit methodology, tools, and continuous improvement.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
    • Develop and implement a fraud prevention program, including fraud risk assessments and key risk indicators.
    • Oversee billing compliance and revenue cycle audits, including the development of an analytics program.
    • Collaborate with the ERM Program to provide independent assurance on the effectiveness of enterprise risk management.
    • Strategically advise management on system implementations and benchmark audit maturity.
  • Audit Analytics Program:

    • Build and scale an analytics program, collaborating with the enterprise analytics team.
    • Implement and maintain a GRC platform for real-time tracking of recommendation implementation.
    • Supervise the team in performing validation testing to confirm remediation effectiveness.
  • Billing Compliance & Revenue Cycle Audits:

    • Develop and execute a risk-based annual billing compliance audit plan.
    • Maintain billing compliance and audit software, supporting the advanced analytics program.
    • Collaborate with Clinical Research Compliance in developing and maintaining an annual research-related billing compliance audit plan.
  • Integration With Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program:

    • Provide independent assurance on the effectiveness of enterprise risk management.
    • Facilitate risk identification workshops and map top-tier ERM risks to controls and mitigation activities.
    • Validate management's self-assessed risk ratings and mitigation effectiveness.
  • Special Projects & Continuing Education:

    • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.
    • Assist management in developing controls as requested.
    • Manage performance, resourcing, budgeted spend, and other administrative oversight of the Audit team.
    • Engage with wide-ranging internal and external audiences.

What You Will Need

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
    • Master’s degree in accounting, preferred.
  • Certification:

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), required.
    • CFE, CISA, CIA, CHIAP, preferred.
  • Experience:

    • 12+ years progressive audit leadership in healthcare.
    • Manager level experience in evaluating risk in healthcare providers.
    • Unique or preferred skills: executive presence, proven leader, fraud prevention/detection program experience, data analysis tools proficiency, MS Office suite, EPIC EMR, and other coding/billing applications.
