About the role
This position is in-office. None of our positions are commission based or involve cold calling.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a point of communication with the Production Team, including providing coverage and program design advice and expertise
- Provides brokers with knowledge about markets and products as they relate to classes of business
- Affords brokers assistance in client and underwriter meetings as requested
- Affords brokers assistance in leadership of the Production Team serving as a first line of defense in administrative matters as well as production/servicing needs
- Prepares and submits proposals to carriers for complex or hard-to-place accounts
- Negotiates with carriers for the best program for clients
- Maintains strong relationships with key carriers in the Strategic Market
- Affords brokers assistance in the training of Associate Brokers and Marketing Brokers
Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of specialized field or area, sometimes acquired through a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and 7 years of job-related experience
- Must have current P&C license
- Transportation experience preferred, but not required
- Excess casualty experience preferred
- Developed understanding of risk selection and coverage
- Knowledge of principles and methods involved in selling services including marketing strategies and tactics and sales techniques
- Ability to travel when necessary
