Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach
St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School (SSSAS) is an Episcopal day school serving ages 3 through Grade 12 in Alexandria, VA, six miles from Washington, D.C. About the Role
The school is seeking an Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach for the fall 2026 season. The position supports a competitive athletic program that competes in the Independent School League (ISL) and the Virginia Independent School Athletic Association (VISAA). The coach will model and promote the program’s core values of leadership, sportsmanship, and goodness.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head varsity volleyball coach in planning and delivering practices and game strategies.
- Emphasize and reinforce the values of leadership, sportsmanship, and goodness among student‑athletes.
- Support the development of young players’ skills, teamwork, and character.
- Help organize team logistics, including travel, equipment, and scheduling.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure alignment with the school’s mission and community values.
Qualifications
- Previous successful coaching experience at the club, high‑school, or college level.
- Collegiate and/or high‑school playing experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to be organized, hard‑working, and detail‑oriented.
- Strong desire to develop young athletes both on and off the court.
- Experience coaching at the club, high‑school, and/or college level.
