Assistant United States Attorney (Asset Forfeiture)
About the role
The U.S. Attorney's Office seeks experienced attorneys to serve as Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSA) in the Office's Criminal Division, focusing on Asset Forfeiture and Financial Litigation Programs. These positions are located in San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Prosecute federal crimes, including cybercrime, complex fraud, corruption, and money laundering.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute criminal conduct.
- Research and brief legal issues, draft motions and responses, and appear in court.
- Enforce and collect criminal monetary penalties, including restitution and fines.
Requirements
- United States citizenship required.
- J.D. degree and active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.
- At least three years of relevant legal experience.
- Reside in the district or within 25 miles.

- Outstanding organizational and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated courtroom skills and ethical standards.

Pay is administratively determined based on years of experience, ranging from $103,885 to $197,100, including 46.34% locality pay.
