Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze data to rate new and renewal business
- Efficiently navigate in rating and issuance systems, including timely and accurate issuance of policies and policy amendments
- Adhere to all Carolina Casualty, Underwriting, State, and Federal rules and regulations
- Examine documents including declarations, applications, signed forms, Motor Vehicle Reports, and other policy documents for accuracy and completeness
- Interpret underwriting manuals/guidelines, rating manuals, forms, and workflows and provide improvement recommendations as appropriate
- Maintain knowledge of technical underwriting process and/or research information if needed; participate in ongoing training as appropriate
- Collaborate with peers, Underwriters, and other departments to promptly and proactively address business challenges and/or opportunities
- Provide first level contact for external customer service inquiries
Qualifications
- Ace’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management preferred
- Insurance Designation (AINS, AU, etc…) preferred
- 1 - 3 years of Insurance and/or Commercial Auto (Trucking and Public Transportation) Insurance Underwriting experience preferred
- 2+ years of Data Entry/Data Processing
- Capable of working with internal and external teams and partners
- Superior customer experience skills
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Strong computer skills, including Excel and Outlook
