Assistant Treasurer - 1940 Act Funds

Responsibilities
- Oversight of Asset Management’s Accounting/Financial Reporting, Controls, Operations, and 40 Act Regulatory adherence for the 1940 Act Funds.
- Liaison with other Northern Trust partner areas, financial and accounting groups, and regulatory reporting groups.
- Establish and maintain disclosure controls and procedures and internal controls over financial reporting under the Investment Company Act of 1940.
- Prepare and support items presented to independent Mutual Fund Board.
Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of Financial Reporting, Tax Reporting, Treasury/Budgeting, and Fund Accounting affecting regulated and unregulated investment companies.
- Understanding of GAAP for investment companies and financial statement presentation and disclosure rules established under Regulation S-X, Form N-1A, and the Investment Company Act of 1940.
- Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and/or business knowledge and functional expertise.
- Focus on executing strategic direction of business function activities.
- Displays a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity.
- Participates in developing division strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit; follows through to ensure that objectives are met.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. In-depth functional/industry knowledge of Asset Management and Treasury Services.
- Highly flexible and adaptable to change. Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the Business Unit's goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff.
- Minimum of 10 years of proven related work experience in mutual funds and ETF industry, with specific experience with 1940 Act funds. CPA preferred.

$114,500 - 194,700 USD
