Assistant Track Coach / Throws Coach -Sr. High

District-wide, non-exempt position reporting to the Activities Director under a certified extracurricular contract. Union: unrepresented.

About the Role

The Assistant Coach provides leadership and expertise regarding the rules, strategies, and techniques for the throws events. Utilizing knowledge of specific equipment, physical fitness, and safety, the coach prepares participants mentally and physically to compete at the highest level.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate successful practices and attend meets.
• Provide leadership and guidance to staff in support of the Head Coach.
• Encourage student participation and establish rapport.
• Motivate participants/athletes to achieve maximum potential.
• Work collaboratively with Head Coach, Activities Director, families, and community resources.
• Maintain compliance with all rules and regulations.
• Comply with and support all school district regulations and policies.
• Perform other duties as determined by the Head Coach or assigned by the district.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively with parents, students, and other staff.
• Previous coaching experience preferred.
• Willingness to accept and follow direction.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• General office skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
