Assistant to University Dean, Office of Health and Human Services (Non-Teaching Adjunct Level 2 - Hourly)

This position supports the Office of Health and Human Services (HHS) within the Office of Graduate and Undergraduate Programming at the CUNY Central Office. HHS oversees health professions programs across the university, preparing a diverse pool of graduates in fields such as nursing, medicine, public health, and social work. CUNY offers over 350 credit-bearing programs in health and human services across 23 campuses, serving nearly 40,000 students.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research related to industry developments, surveys, focus groups, and emerging workforce trends.
  • Research potential grants and external funding opportunities.
  • Support ongoing HHS initiatives, including the Graduate Genetic Counseling Program.
  • Coordinate and plan logistics for meetings, programs, and special events, including the Annual Simulation Summit.
  • Maintain and update content on the HHS website.
  • Prepare correspondence, presentations, reports, and other program materials.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in healthcare, public health, health administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting research, analyzing information, and summarizing findings.
  • Knowledge of grant funding processes and procedures.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders university-wide.
  • Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office 365 collaboration tools, Excel, and AI applications for research, communications, or administrative work.
  • Familiarity with academic technologies and enterprise applications such as PeopleSoft (CUNfirst, CUNYBUY), Blackboard, D2L, Brightspace, EAB Navigate360, Coursedog, and CRM systems.

Schedule

  • Part-time, hourly position (up to 15 hours per week, not exceeding 225 hours per semester).
  • Eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
  • Anticipated start date: mid-September 2026.

Pay

The hourly rate is $51.94 - $56.21, commensurate with credentials, education, and experience. Effective September 1, 2026, eligible employees will receive a 3.5% salary adjustment per the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
