Adjunct Instructor - School of Public & Human Services

Location: Utica, NY | Job Type: Part-Time/Adjunct | Work Arrangement: This position requires on-campus instruction and presence in Utica, NY as needed.

Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) seeks exceptional candidates for part-time Adjunct Instructor positions within the School of Public and Human Services. Disciplines sought include: Criminal Justice, Chemical Dependency Practitioner, Human Services, Psychology, Childhood and Early Childhood Education, Physical Education for Teachers, Physical Education, and Sociology. Assignments will be made based on academic qualifications, availability, and School needs. Courses may be taught in traditional classroom settings, virtually, or a hybrid combination, and may include both daytime and evening classes.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate classroom instruction in accordance with established learning objectives;
• Develop and maintain syllabus materials;
• Evaluate student performance and maintain grades, including entering midterm and final grades;
• Respond promptly to student inquiries;
• Maintain attendance records according to MVCC standards;
• Integrate current and emerging instructional delivery technologies into the learning process;
• Maintain professional standards that protect student confidentiality;
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using discretion, patience, and courtesy.

Requirements

• Must reside in New York State and have the ability to work on campus as required;
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
• Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check;
• Official academic transcripts required upon hire.
