Assistant Teaching Professor of Public Policy
The School of Public Policy at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor in public policy. The position is a full-time, non-tenure-track member of the faculty participating in school governance. The start date for the position is fall, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teaching courses in the undergraduate program and the Master of Public Policy program
- Advising students
- Assisting with assessment for accreditation
- Teaching courses in public finance, economics policy, statistics, and policy process at the MPP level
- Taught introductory policy courses, policy analysis, leadership, or substantive policy courses at the undergraduate level
- Onsite teaching is an essential function of this job
- The teaching load during the academic year is typically six courses
Requirements
- Earned a Ph.D. in public policy, public management, economics, political science, or a related field by the appointment start date
- Demonstrated teaching excellence in public policy, political science, or economics
Qualifications

- Ability to teach a variety of policy-related courses
