Assistant Teaching Professor

Rice University’s Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, located in Houston, Texas, seeks a non-tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor.

About the role

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses, mentor graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants, advise students on curriculum and degree progress, lead ABET accreditation efforts (coordinating assessments, ensuring compliance, and preparing review documents), participate in curriculum development for BSChE and BA programs, serve on the undergraduate program committee, and engage in continuous professional development to promote teaching innovation.

Travel within the U.S. for work-related conferences or events is expected to be 5–10%.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biomolecular Engineering, Bioengineering, or a closely related field.
