About the School of Accountancy

The School of Accountancy in the Trulaske College of Business at the University of Missouri offers an integrated program leading to both bachelor's and master's degrees, a Master of Accountancy, and a Ph.D. in Accountancy. The School recently received a transformative gift to name its master's program as the Paul and Lynn Ann Vogel Master of Accountancy Program. We also participate in the KPMG Master of Accounting with Data and Analytics (MADA) program and continue to experience strong enrollment growth. Our programs benefit from outstanding partnerships with public accounting firms, corporations, and professional organizations. Faculty are committed to excellence in teaching, student success, and professional engagement while working within a collegial and collaborative academic environment.

Position Details

Full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position beginning no later than Fall 2027. Appointment expected at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor, although exceptionally qualified candidates may be considered for appointment at a higher teaching rank. This position is eligible for University benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in accounting or a closely related field
  • Willingness to teach four course sections per semester

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional accounting experience and/or certification (CPA, CMA)
  • Doctoral degree in accounting or a closely related field

Evaluation Criteria

  • Teaching: Demonstrated ability or strong potential to provide high-quality instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels across one or more areas of accounting. The School has teaching needs in areas including financial accounting and managerial and cost accounting, but candidates with expertise in any area of accounting are encouraged to apply. The ability to incorporate data analytics, emerging technologies, and artificial intelligence into courses will also be considered.
  • Student Engagement: Commitment to student success through advising, mentoring, experiential learning, student organizations, or other activities that enhance the student experience.
  • Service: Ability and willingness to contribute to curriculum development, committee service, and outreach that supports the School of Accountancy, the College, and the accounting profession.
  • Professional Experience: Relevant professional accounting experience and professional certifications.
