Assistant Teachers

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our passionate and professional team at The Gardner School of Edina. Our school is dedicated to fostering a love for learning and making a positive impact in the lives of young children.

Responsibilities

• Aid the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities tailored to each child’s developmental needs.
• Provide nurturing guidance to support each child’s emotional and behavioral development.
• Model and uphold The Gardner School’s core values: Children First, Trust, Innovation, and Make a Difference.
• Maintain respectful, supportive relationships with parents and families.
• Ensure a clean, organized, and safe classroom by supporting daily routines, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.
• Collaborate with teaching team members and school leaders to maintain consistency and support across classrooms.
• Adhere to a professional, team-oriented mindset at all times.

Qualifications

• Must meet Minnesota licensing requirements for Assistant Teacher.
• High school diploma with 12 quarter credits (required); CDA or Bachelor's degree (preferred).
• Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• 1+ years of experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.
• Intermediate PC skills and proficiency with general administrative tasks.
• Ability to stand, sit, bend, and lift up to ~60 lbs.
• Passion for early childhood education and a nurturing, joyful approach to care.
• Interest in growing within a supportive, mission-driven preschool environment.

Pay

The starting pay range is $16.55-$20.45 per hour, based on education and experience.
