Assistant teachers work cooperatively with a lead teacher and other staff members to provide a well-organized, safe and positive environment for children. The ideal candidate wants to work with young children and is willing to be active and engaged with classroom explorations. Assistant teachers are vital to helping children discover, learn, and support the mission of St. Odilia Preschool, serving children 24-months to 5 years of age. Position Shifts 1:00-5:30pm, Monday through Friday 7:00-9:30am Monday through Friday 1:00-3:00pm Monday/Wednesday/Friday Substitute positions available too with variable hours. Additional subbing hours available for regular part-time staff too. All shifts are 12-month positions. Learn more about St. Odilia Preschool: https://stodiliaschool.org/preschool Qualifications Must meet DHS Rule 3 requirements for assistant teacher.Ability to collaborate and work well with other teaching staff to create a warm environment that is developmentally appropriate for preschool aged children and aligns with our play-based teaching philosophies.Excited to work with children as young as 24-months of age.Builds positive and professional relationships with administration, coworkers, students, and families.Able to enforce required safety procedures and policies of St. Odilia Preschool as required by DHS.Experience working with young children, CDA preferred.
