Key Responsibilities

  • Aid in the implementation of the classroom curriculum, tailoring activities to individual child needs.
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing environment conducive to exploration, play, and learning.
  • Support children’s development through planned activities, play, and positive behavioral guidance.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to establish and adhere to classroom routines, organize materials, and communicate effectively with parents/guardians.
  • Monitor and report on children’s progress and address any concerns to the Lead Teacher.
  • Participate in professional development to enhance teaching skills and classroom effectiveness.
  • Comply with health and safety protocols to ensure a clean and secure environment.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Adhere to company standards and comply with state licensing requirements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience working with children in a childcare, school, or youth program setting is preferred but not required.
  • Must meet all state licensing requirements for assistant teachers.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within a designated timeframe after hire).
  • Ability to engage with children throughout the day, including sitting on the floor, bending, lifting, and participating in various activities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30–40 pounds.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills necessary for collaboration with teachers, families, and staff.
  • Patient, nurturing, dependable, and flexible with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all children.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written English with children, families, coworkers, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English sufficiently to complete required documentation, understand policies and procedures, and ensure the health and safety of children.

Schedule

  • Full Time and Part Time Positions available.
  • No nights (outside of one monthly staff meeting after hours), weekends, or holidays.
