About the role

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled Infant/Toddler Assistant to join our team and provide high-quality educational support and care for young children.

Responsibilities

  • Promote feelings of security and trust in infants and toddlers through warm, responsive interactions.
  • Talk, sing, and read to children frequently to support early language development.
  • Absorb personal hygiene needs, including diapering, toileting, cleaning, and feeding.
  • Observe children to identify signs of illness, injury, or other concerns; report observations promptly to the Teacher or Site Supervisor.
  • Help implement developmentally appropriate activities planned by the Teacher.
  • Absorb materials and set up the classroom environment to encourage exploration and learning.
  • Support the Teacher in preparing classroom materials and learning centers.
  • Absorb documentation and observation as directed.
  • Participate in classroom activities and routines to support the achievement of learning objectives.
  • Maintain accurate daily records assigned (e.g., meal counts, attendance).
  • Maintain a welcoming, respectful attitude toward all families.
  • Communicate daily information about children’s routines and well-being to parents and guardians, as appropriate and directed.
  • Support the Teacher during parent meetings and conferences as needed.

Qualifications

  • Completion of at least six (6) units of Early Childhood Education (ECE) classes within the required community care licensing core course matrix, including three (3) units in infant/toddler development.
  • Current Child Development Assistant Teacher Permit.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with infants and toddlers, including children with disabilities.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
