About the role
The Goddard School seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to assist the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children.
Responsibilities
- Absorb and implement age-appropriate lesson plans as directed by the Lead Teacher
- Engage children in social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development activities
- Prepare and maintain classroom materials to ensure a clean and safe learning space
- Supervise children during playtime and group activities, fostering a sense of community
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress and daily experiences
- Maintain compliance with health and safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Assist with daily care routines, including meal preparation and outdoor play
Requirements
- A high school diploma is required, with an associate or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting is preferred
- Show empathy and compassion towards children
- Be able to work independently and without direct supervision
- Have a basic understanding of child development
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
