About the role

The Goddard School seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator to join our team. This position will assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, supporting children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development, preparing classroom materials, supervising children, and fostering a sense of belonging.

Responsibilities

  • Absorb and implement age-appropriate lesson plans under the guidance of the Lead Teacher
  • Engage children actively and positively to enhance their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth
  • Prepare and maintain a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment
  • Provide individualized support to children and encourage a sense of community
  • Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress and daily activities
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations
  • Participate in daily care routines and tasks to create a nurturing atmosphere

Requirements

  • A high school diploma is required
  • Show empathy and compassion towards young children
  • Work effectively without direct supervision
  • Have a basic understanding of child development
  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed during child-related tasks

Qualifications

  • Ability to pass required state background checks and meet local education, experience, and credential requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for early childhood education
