Assistant Teacher

About the role

The lead teachers at The Goddard School are responsible for coordinating the daily operations of assigned classes. They plan, present, and evaluate educational and recreational activities for childcare in a safe environment. They work directly with children and parents daily to provide quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Plan, present, and evaluate educational and recreational activities for childcare in a safe environment
• Communicate with parents daily, sharing their children’s latest adventures and achievements through a variety of avenues, including mobile apps and personal discussions
• Engage with other childcare professionals and continue to grow in your profession
• Coordinate the daily operations of assigned classes

Requirements

• A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred
• A Child Development Associate (CDA) certification is preferred
• One to two years of previous experience in childcare is preferred
• Successfully completed state-required pre-service training
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations
• Ability to lift infants into and out of a crib for Infant and Young Toddler Teachers
• Maintain background check eligibility
