About the role

Reports to: Principal Teacher and School Director.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Degree + Early Childhood NC Credentials (with at least 18 EC Ed credits) or Bachelor's in Education, Psychology.
  • AAS or AA in Early Childhood Development or Child Development.
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English).
  • Minimum of 1 year of verifiable experience in early childhood.
  • Desirable: Certification in CPR and first aid.
  • Criminal background check through DHHS.

  • Adaptability to movement: Ability to perform rapid and precise movements when necessary to ensure the safety of children, such as assisting during play or in risky situations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the lead teacher in planning and executing educational activities, ensuring they align with SFF! guidelines and policies.
  • Supervises and manages the classroom, promoting a structured and enriching environment.
  • Helps maintain daily attendance records of children and reports any incidents to the lead teacher or administrative team.
  • Guarantees that all activities comply with DCDEE regulations and SFF! standards.
  • Participates actively in planning meetings, training sessions, and school events, contributing with ideas and practical solutions to improve the educational experience.
  • Supports event preparation and execution, ensuring the integration and well-being of children and families.
  • Maintains a safe and sanitary classroom environment according to SFF! and DCDEE guidelines, keeping the classroom clean, organized, and free from risks.
  • Safeguards materials and toys, ensuring they are safe, appropriate, and regularly disinfected.
  • Maintains hygiene practices among children, promoting healthy habits like hand washing and organizing belongings.
  • Promotes positive interactions among children, helping them develop social skills and resolve conflicts constructively.
  • Provides emotional and physical support when needed, respecting each child's individuality and specific needs.
