Assistant Teacher
About the role
The Description Assistant Teacher will provide a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourage and support social, emotional, physical and intellectual development. The Assistant Teacher will assist classroom teacher in designing and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum according to the guidelines established by Creative Beginnings Child Development Center.
Responsibilities
- Aid in creating and maintaining an environment in which the students may grow physically, emotionally, socially and mentally.
- Become an expert on each student's needs, and knowledgeable of his/her family background and home environment.
- Assist the teacher in classroom duties, running copies, and cutting out materials for class as needed.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, stocked, and clean classroom.
- Keep Teacher informed and up-to-date on each student.
- Be aware and up-to-date on state compliance and organization license guidelines.
- Supervise students during activities, meals, and outdoor play.
- Foster positive collaboration and relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure the best care and education for each student.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Childcare experience is recommended.
- CPR and First Aid Certifications are recommended.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be 18 or older per State Requirements in Childcare.
