Assistant Teacher

About This Role

The Goddard School Cordova in Cordova, TN is hiring an Assistant Teacher to support daily operations at an early childhood education center. This position offers $12 – $14/Hr and requires relevant professional experience.

What You'll Do

• Support the implementation of curriculum-based activities and encourage active participation from children.
• Take an active role in classroom activities, ensuring materials are organized, clean, and readily available.
• Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions and regular progress reports.
• Model good hygiene and self-help practices to encourage positive habits in children.
• Help facilitate a smooth transition from home to the child care center on a daily basis.
• Adhere to all center policies and state regulations.
• Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and contribute to continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• Must pass health screening.
• Must clear full background check.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• A strong understanding of child development.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• High energy.
• Ability to work well with others.

Nice to Have

• Coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field at the college level can be advantageous.
• A certificate in child development can be a valuable asset.
• Two or more years of experience in a licensed childcare facility can provide a strong foundation for success.
