Assistant Teacher
About This Role
Sylvan Way Christian in Bremerton, WA is seeking a qualified Assistant Teacher to work with Infant / Toddler (0–2), Preschool (3–5) in a center-based, faith-based program, military child care environment. This position requires a willingness to earn a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, with employer support.
As a valued member of the team, you will ensure quality in the classroom by being a dependable assistant.

What You'll Do
- Support the lead in the classroom in all areas.
- Contribute to lesson planning and preparation.
- Engage with the children throughout the day.
- Auxiliary cleaning and organization of the classroom.
Requirements
- Have a genuine love for children's development.
- Currently enrolled in OC with classes for your Initial Certificate.
- Willingness to complete required trainings for child care professionals.
- Must pass a background check, fingerprinting, and have a negative TB test.
- Nice to have: 1-2 years of experience working with children.
- Possess a valid CPR/FA /BBP certification prior to your start date.
- Possess a Food Permit prior to your start date.
Benefits
- None required but we will support obtaining CDA.
