Assistant Swim Coach & Aquatic Director

Essential Functions

• Affords assistance to the Head Swim Coach in organizing and conducting practice sessions
• Affords assistance to the Head Coach in recruiting prospective student-athletes
• Affords assistance to the Head Coach in enforcing team rules and standards, and monitoring conduct of student-athletes representing the team both on and off campus
• Affords assistance in monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, including but not limited to academic advising and referrals
• Affords assistance in managing social media accounts representing the Washington College Swim Team
• Affords assistance in ensuring institutional compliance of the program by adhering to all policies and procedures of the NCAA, Centennial Conference, Washington College, USA Swimming, and all other relevant entities
• Affords assistance in supervising the facility; knowledge of operations and equipment and ability to respond in an emergency
• Affords assistance in managing lifeguard staff, weekly scheduling, etc.
• Affords assistance in meet set-up and take-down
• Vacuums the pool once a week, or as needed
• Performs pool chemical testing as required by the Kent County Health Department
• Assists the Head Coach in recommending athletes for awards and other honors

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Experience (as a coach and/or swimmer) at the collegiate level preferred
