Assistant Supervisor

About the Role

This position is responsible for assisting in ensuring that trucks are loaded correctly and leading the crew by example. The ideal candidate will possess a positive and team-oriented approach to complex and time-sensitive situations.

Responsibilities

• Use Produce Pro programs and computers
• Lead by setting a good example
• Plan routes effectively
• Perform inventory control when needed
• Load trucks efficiently
• Maintain 100 picks per hour (PPH)
• Problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
• Assist supervisors and managers with tasks as needed
• Guide pickers through final clean-up procedures
• Treat all employees with respect and professionalism
• Communicate between all departments (Transportation, Buyers, Sales, PF, HR, etc.)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 1–2 years of previous warehouse experience
• Self-starter, able to work efficiently with and without direct supervision
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task under pressure
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English to understand and process paperwork
• Ability to use and understand portable communications within a warehouse environment
• Ability to operate and monitor all equipment (forklifts, jacks, racks, flooring, trailers) responsibly
• Strong computer skills, preferably including good working knowledge of Produce Pro
