Position Summary
The Assistant Superintendent position is the first step in taking a larger field leadership role on our complex projects and is the first step towards preparing individuals to become field Superintendents. The Assistant Superintendent works closely with the Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure timely, quality, and successful completion of the project. May be solely responsible for a segment of the project, and/or have Engineers/Interns reporting to them.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Manager in establishing the Project Chart of Accounts
- Aid Project Manager and Superintendent in the development and updating of the CPM Construction Schedule
- Aid Project Manager in the development of the Subcontracts and Purchase Orders
- Provide administrative support for the Project Superintendent
- Lead the Project Staff and analyze job costs
- Monitor and track monthly Owner Payment Applications
- Review and process Change Proposal Requests, Change Orders, and claims (if applicable)
- Analyze and complete Quarterly Profit Projection Reports
- Prepare quantity reports and analyze labor costs
- Implement all applicable safety programs, EEO programs, and Affirmative Action Program on the Project
- Manage and lead the on-site Total Quality Management process
- Manage the preparation and execution of the Project closeout process
Qualifications
- 4-7 Years of civil construction project experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, or Engineering required, or equivalent working experience
- General knowledge of construction principles/processes required
- Experience with self-perform work required
- Proven commitment to Safety and building relationships with the Owner
- Experience managing field staff
