Responsibilities

  • Cook up and oversee all construction-related activities tied to the whole project.
  • Collaborate with the Project Management Team to boost the overall success of the project.
  • Direct field personnel to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, with high-quality craftsmanship that adheres to the plans and specifications.
  • Create and maintain the project schedule and oversee its completion.
  • Identify potential issues and offer realistic solutions to the Project Management Team to keep the construction schedule on track.
  • Inspect or oversee the inspection of all contracted work to ensure compliance with contract agreements and all applicable local jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate and schedule all required municipal inspections according to the local municipality.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and oversee all required utility companies relevant to the project.
  • Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts as agreed upon with the Owners.
  • Work with the Project Engineer(s) and Project Manager(s) to ensure necessary materials are reserved and coordinate deliveries with suppliers.
  • Maintain good relationships with all Garrett Companies Personnel, the entire design team, contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and all applicable municipal representatives.
  • Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and address any job site hazards promptly.
  • Show commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through both personal actions and mentoring others.
  • Prepare and submit Daily Reports documenting weather and field conditions, trade and subcontractor manpower, progress and conditions impacting the project, as well as Accident Reports, Quality Reports, etc.
  • Coordinate weekly subcontractor meetings.
  • Provide a two-week progress report (previous two weeks and next two weeks) bi-weekly to the Project Management Team.
  • Attend and assist in running Monthly Progress meetings with the Project Management Team and all applicable subcontractors.
  • Train and educate the entire field personnel as needed to ensure a successful project.
  • Maintain an organized job site and site construction office.
  • Foster a positive work environment to promote the professional growth and development of employees.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of progressively responsible field experience managing multi-family construction projects.
  • A thorough understanding of construction methods, scheduling, codes, inspections, and utility coordination, along with proficiency in project management software (Procore, MS Project, or similar).
  • A proven ability to supervise field staff and subcontractors, organize progress meetings, and foster a safe, positive, and professional work environment.
  • Exceptional decision-making skills, capable of identifying issues early and implementing effective solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including experience in preparing daily/weekly reports, coordinating with project teams, and maintaining positive relationships with owners, contractors, and municipalities.
