Assistant Superintendent

About the role

The Assistant Superintendent oversees the coordination of Ryan employees, subcontractors, and project management on-site to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projects.

Responsibilities

• Administer project safety according to Ryan's safety policies and procedures, and develop a job-specific Job Safety/Hazard Analysis.
• Manage subcontractors to ensure they perform their work effectively.
• Understand and manage a CPM computer-generated schedule, tracking its progress.
• Work within the allocated construction budget for their assigned tasks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to direct project personnel.
• Aid in material procurement and maintain efficient, independent work habits.
• Enforce the site-specific Project Safety Manual and engage in Quality Control practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and subsequent random and post-accident tests.
• Complete union-required training programs or equivalent.
• Show problem-solving abilities and leadership skills.
• Be able to remain calm under stress and make sound decisions.
• Have the ability to ask for help when necessary.
