Expected experience: 3-5 years. Reports to: Superintendent. FLSA status: Exempt-Administrative.
Responsibilities
- Develop with the Project Manager an overall job conceptual plan and schedule.
- Complete project staffing plan to determine size and talent requirements.
- Establish subcontractor performance schedules.
- Coordinate major material deliveries.
- Plan and conduct weekly schedule meetings with project team members.
- Plan jobsite office staging area, storage, and work areas.
- Develop inclement weather contingency plans.
- Establish workforce by hiring qualified personnel and assigning specified duties and responsibilities.
- Develop production quotas for each trade.
- Establish material delivery dates and ensure timely preparation of purchase orders.
- Set up on-site record-keeping system, including daily reports.
- Coordinate with the ESH Director a project-specific safety program.
- Supervise all field operations for the project.
- Ensure jobsite cleanliness, including material storage, trash removal, and maintenance of eating facilities and offices.
- Develop and implement the preconstruction/construction quality control plan.
- Coordinate with PM in early identification of problem areas that affect project quality.
- Assist project team in conducting subcontractor pre-construction meetings.
- Promote “Do It Right The First Time” philosophy.
- Implement the safety project plan and instruct employees on potential hazards.
- Inspect the site for OSHA violations and unsafe practices and conditions.
- Conduct weekly safety walks of the job site.
- Supervise Assistant Superintendents, Quality Managers, Project Engineers, Foremen, Craftsmen, Laborers, and onsite field engineers.
- Demonstrate proper performance of skills reflected and validated by the competency checklist.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, safety plans, and regulatory standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in Bluebeam.
Physical Requirements
- Regular sitting or standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to carry equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent talking and clear communication using language.
- Regular hearing and ability to perceive sounds.
- Regular near acuity with clear vision at 20 inches or less.
- Constant ability to read, record, or type data quickly and accurately.
- Ability to collect and analyze numerical, written, and verbal information to reach logical conclusions.
- Ability to determine time, place, and sequence of operations or actions required.
- Must be able to use hands and arms to reach, handle, or manipulate objects.
- Must be able to climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
- Must be able to endure uncomfortable weather conditions.
Environmental/Working Conditions
- Ability to work under and handle stress appropriately.
- May be exposed to high, medium, or low noise intensity.
- Constant contact with co-workers required.
- Full-time position requiring regular and punctual attendance.
- Willingness to travel if necessary.
