Major Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
- Manage, train and develop Field Engineers, Foremen and Craft persons
- Regularly meet with Subcontractors to discuss progress, challenges and assist in removing barriers to completing work
- Determine staffing levels and timing considering building methodology as well as the availability of tools and equipment for the construction project
- Work with all jobsite employees, Engineers, Architects, Subcontractors, Inspectors, and Vendor of materials to improve construction methods
- Avoid safety issues by ensuring safety as number one priority on the jobsite and enforce compliance with RGC, jobsite safety plan, policies and all safety-related regulations
- Coordinate inspections and participate in the examination and inspection of work progress and equipment to verify safety and to ensure specifications are met
- Ensure that material received is properly inspected for quantity and quality, and that the receiving tickets are properly signed and coded
- Aid the Superintendent with the creation, input, review and finalization all jobsite reporting requirements, including daily reports, field purchase orders, weekly reports and monthly updates to the construction schedule
- Aid in completing thorough Daily Logs every day in strict accordance with RGC best practices, attaching pictures and other necessary documentation in Procore or, if a project is not in Procore, in the form acceptable to VP – Field Operations
- Perform any job specific related work, as apparent or assigned
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- 3 - 5 years of construction experience
- Knowledge of safety, scheduling and cost control procedures
- Knowledge of all crafts of construction related to carpentry, concrete, structural steel, and interior build-outs
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Driver’s License
Preferences
- Experience with construction management software (such as Procore)
- Experience with Scheduling Software
- OSHA 30
- First Aid/CPR
- Communication skills in Spanish
Supervisory Responsibility
- Has supervisory responsibility of all Engineers, Foremen, Craft Persons and Laborers
- Ensures RGC policies and processes are followed in supervisory activities
- Works with each direct report to establish goals and development plans for each year; monitors and supervises the progress to enhance their professional development and contribution to RGC
Physical Demands
- Significant portion of day outside on construction site
- Able to walk or stand for long periods of time
- Able to lift/move up to 70 lbs.
- Able to deal with the physical activities associated with a construction site (stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach and twist)
- Able to navigate work areas under construction
