Responsibilities
- Assist the Superintendent in the management of construction activities, ensuring compliance with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Oversee daily operations at the construction site, including coordinating workers, materials, and equipment, ensuring specifications are followed, and work proceeds on schedule and within budget.
- Read and understand blueprints, building codes, and project scheduling.
- Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety programs, requirements, and work rules.
- Handle risk management by implementing proactive strategies and responding to issues as they arise.
- Manage subcontractors effectively, ensuring tasks are completed as expected and addressing any issues or delays.
- Work closely with the project team to address potential obstacles and resolve issues.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets or exceeds standards, schedules are followed, and workers adhere to safety rules.
- Report regularly to the Superintendent about project status and issues that may impact client relations.
Requirements
- 2+ years of commercial construction experience
- Previous experience working in the field for a general contractor
- Multifamily, residential, or large-scale commercial construction experience preferred
- Strong understanding of construction plans, schedules, and sequencing
- Ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors and project teams
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred, but not required
Pay
$95,000 - $130,000 per year
