About the role

H.J. Russell & Company was established in 1952 and specializes in construction, program management, and real estate development. Our headquarters is in Atlanta, GA, with additional offices in Boston, MA, Dallas, TX, and Savannah, GA.

Responsibilities

  • Direct aspects of construction projects as assigned by the General Superintendent, Project Superintendent, or Project Manager.
  • Ensure successful completion of projects by working with the project team.
  • Achieve adherence to Russell's standards of quality.
  • Deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Report to the General Superintendent, Project Superintendent, or Project Manager to receive assignments and responsibilities.
  • Manage foreman, field engineers, and project coordinators as needed.
  • Communicate with Owner and Architect representatives, providing necessary information and clarifying drawings.
  • Coordinate working drawings and shop drawings, ensuring timely distribution and updates.
  • Assist with field purchasing and material delivery coordination.
  • Prepare, monitor, and update the project schedule.
  • Coordinate work in place quantities and labor cost coding.
  • Support project close-out activities, including corrective action lists and punch lists.
  • Perform work safely and promote safety among team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction, or Business Management.
  • 3-4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Respond effectively to inquiries and complaints.
  • Write speeches and articles using innovative techniques.
  • Apply mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, and geometry.
  • Apply logical and scientific thinking to problem-solving.
  • Use abstract and concrete symbols and deal with variables.
  • Regularly stand, walk, use hands, and sit.
  • Lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Stand, walk, use hands, and sit frequently.
  • Reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Talk and hear.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles.
  • Frequent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
  • Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, extreme cold, extreme heat, explosives, and risk of radiation.
  • Noisy environment.
