Assistant Superintendent
Summary
The Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent and oversees a specific part of the project, focusing on safety, coordination, and tool management. They may also assume roles such as site safety officer or environmental control officer.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Foreman or Field Engineer, or eight (8) years of construction experience with knowledge of multiple construction trades
- Required certifications: OSHA 10-hour training, CPR, First Aid
- Self-starter capable of learning and executing tasks
Responsibilities/Duties
- Support of Superintendent
- Collect and fill out subcontractor manpower reports
- Handle deliveries
- Solve problems, escalate to Superintendent if unable to resolve
- Supervise Specific Part of Project
- Coordinate with subcontractors
- Direct Grunley manpower
- Read, understand, and communicate information from construction drawings and specifications
- Perform safety meetings
- Monitor project for unsafe conditions
- Give direction to correct unsafe conditions
- Coordinate work with subcontractors
- Coordinate Grunley work with schedule
- Maintain tools
- Inventory tools
