Responsibilities
- Execute and enforce safety standards, processes, and procedures ensuring project site is kept clean and organized.
- Conduct weekly safety inspections and monthly safety audits.
- Enforce quality standards, processes and procedures; conduct quality control audits.
- Determine, follow, and promote construction requirements, processes, and procedures.
- Assist in managing contractual requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain construction documents, review and coordinate shop drawings and submittals.
- Read specifications such as blueprints to determine construction requirements and to plan procedures.
- Inspect work progress and construction sites to ensure specifications are met.
- Anticipate and identify project issues and risks, proactively communicate identified project issues and risks, presenting solutions and conferring with project team to resolve problems.
- Initiate, review, and negotiate change orders.
- Assist and plan all construction operations and schedules to ensure deadlines will be met.
- Assist in maintaining completed, thorough daily logs that include production and detailed areas of work.
- Identify new construction products/practices and recommend methods, materials, and layouts to reduce construction costs based on design needs/capabilities.
- Assist in close-out process including creation and completion of punch list, complete building turnover, existing utility coordination, AHJ closeout, demobilizing all resources, and successfully transitioning the project to the client.
- Maintain positive client relationships to leverage future repeat business.
Qualifications
- 0-3 years’ experience or engineering/construction management degree.
- Knowledge of construction principles/practices required; finish carpentry experience is preferred.
- Proven experience implementing safety protocols on construction sites ensuring a secure work environment for project team.
- Able to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules.
- Must be a motivated and driven individual with proven history to effectively facilitate the completion of subcontracted work.
- Able to understand and solve complex challenges to present alternative solutions.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with computer applications including Procore, P6, and Microsoft Office.
Working Conditions
- Work is primarily performed outdoors in various weather conditions with exposure to health or safety hazards, including noise level ranging from moderate to loud.
- Physical effort is required, including the ability to walk the job site, climb ladders and scaffolding, lift loads up to 50 lbs., perform hands-on work when necessary.
- Individual work location will change or vary and/or position may require travel.
- Environment will be demanding and fast paced; number of hours typically worked in a workweek may exceed 40 hours per week.
