Typical Duties
- Supervise craft workers assigned to area of responsibility.
- Provide liaison between field engineering, estimating, and crafts to ensure compliance of construction with drawings and specifications.
- Aid in planning work schedule, determining manpower levels, materials quantities, equipment, requirements, etc.
- Maintain oversight of work performance and productivity of crafts to ensure project rules, procedures, safety requirements, etc. are maintained.
- Ensure craft time cards are completed to accurately reflect hours worked.
- Advise senior level supervision and project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc.
- Aid in resolving such problems as required.
- Maintain liaison with other departments, i.e., Purchasing, Accounting, Engineering, etc. as required to support construction schedule.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience
- Educational and experience requirements include: 4 year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
- Minimum of 6 years construction experience; minimum of 3 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements/jurisdiction, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents, plus ability to supervise and evaluate craft performance is essential.
