Responsibilities
- Direct all field personnel to achieve project completion on schedule with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications.
- Oversee all jobsite-related activities, equipment, materials, communication with internal staff, onsite employees, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Ensure construction adheres to plans and specifications.
- Understand plans, specifications, and scope by trade.
- Identify and address jobsite issues and problems.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and employees.
- Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and rectify job site hazards immediately.
- Ensure adherence to safety policies and codes by company employees, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Rectify non-compliant items from periodic safety inspections promptly.
- Complete accident investigation reports for all safety incidents and report to the Safety Manager immediately.
- Identify changes as they occur on each project and advise the Superintendent.
- Report jobsite daily, including subcontractor staff and equipment levels, scheduled future work, jobsite visitors, inspection activity, weather, general notes, etc.
- Document project issues, owner requests, etc., as they occur.
- Take progress pictures of the job daily and upload.
- Develop punch lists and ensure all punch list items are completed in a timely manner.
- Complete project closeout checklists and organize field inventory items to the shop.
- Continually review job responsibilities and projects to improve and/or streamline operations.
- Make suggestions to management to improve procedures and implement as directed.
Requirements
- Three or more years of construction superintendent experience.
- Basic understanding of blueprints.
- Working knowledge of general trades such as carpentry, framing, drywall, etc.
- General knowledge of building and safety codes.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle with insurance.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate's degree in construction management or related field preferred.
