Essential Functions
- Actively supervises assigned group of children.
- Participate and encourage participation of all students in daily activities and events.
- Supports Summer Camp Director in planning and implementation of program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.
- Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness.
- Actively participates in department and branch staff meetings and training.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
- Cultivates positive relationships and maintains effective communication with parents, children and other staff.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- At least 15 years of age
- Ability to attend training in May 2026
- Work the entire summer, June 1 – August 21, 2026
- Previous experience working with children aged 4-12 years, preferably in a day camp setting
- Mandatory to supervise and play with children in a pool setting
- Willingness to work outdoors
- Demonstrated leadership, dependability & flexibility in work hours
- Integrity and ability to work independently with attention to detail required
- Complete within 30 days of hire: YMCA cause & culture training; Child Abuse Prevention Training, BLS CPR/AED/First Aid
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Indoor/outdoor environment, intermittent sitting, standing, walking, running and water play required.
- Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions required.
- Stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger; handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Reliable transportation and travel to local events and activities may be required.
