Responsibilities

• Build personal and professional rapport with guests and Ulta Beauty associates.
• Provide professional product recommendations as part of all services.
• Learn from and assist an Elite or Master Hair Stylist mentor.
• Meet or exceed individual sales and productivity goals.
• Attend mandatory education events and workshops.
• Assist in store duties such as filling salon retail displays and shelves.
• Adhere to all salon standards for guest service and cleanliness.
• Participate in manager‑led monthly business development meetings to support personal business growth.
• Demonstrate personal style while adhering to the Ulta Beauty dress code.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Cosmetology diploma and active license (no prior work experience required).
• Basic understanding of current salon techniques for hair design, color, texture, hair treatments, makeup applications, and ear piercing where applicable.
• Basic knowledge of equipment and chemicals needed for technical work.
• Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
• Developed communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

Special Position Requirements

• Work a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions

• Frequent mobility during shift (reaching, twisting, neck movement).
• Frequent eye/hand coordination for guest services and computer use.
• Continuous lifting/moving up to 10 lb., with ability to lift/move up to 40 lb.
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and pulling/pushing a rolling cart.
• Standing for long periods.
• Climbing a ladder and maintaining balance as needed.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $14.49 – $19.00 per hour. Exact pay is based on education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business needs. Eligible associates may also earn overtime pay as required by law and receive tips from service guests.
