About the role

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for ensuring the delivery of an outstanding guest experience, managing other associates, performing screening interviews, and maintaining the safe and efficient operation of the store.

Responsibilities

• Managing other associates: Assigning and monitoring their duties, coaching The Hi Five Guest Experience, and training Shift Leaders and Guest Services Associates.
• Providing input to the Store Manager for counseling and disciplining associates.
• Performing screening interviews with applicants.
• Store Administration: Ordering, reviewing weekly delivery reports, transferring products, completing paperwork as directed by the Store Manager or District Supervisor.
• Overall Guest Services: Providing the signature UDF Hi Five Guest Experience, greeting guests, preparing DipSide items, operating POS system and gas console, stocking merchandise, maintaining security, and reporting accurately.

Requirements

• Ability to speak, hear, and understand English well enough to communicate with customers.
• Ability to see well enough to operate store equipment and use price book.
• Ability to understand and operate store equipment.
• Ability to prepare DipSide items using supplies in the dip cabinets.
• Ability to handle various payment methods and make change.
• Ability to recognize and count numbers, perform basic arithmetic, and organize merchandise.
• Ability to lift and move merchandise, tolerate cold and hot temperatures, and perform physical tasks such as placing packages in cabinets.

Qualifications

Legally qualified to conduct all sales transactions including alcohol and tobacco sales.
