About the role

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the staffing, setup, merchandising, pack-up and teardown of a Seasonal Store. They are responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the various tasks involved in the overall operation of a store ensuring maximum sales/profitability by establishing and maintaining Guest Services, developing staff, controlling expenses, shrinkage and all aspects of merchandising and inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Store Manager in staffing, setup, merchandising, pack-up and teardown of a Seasonal Store.
  • Serves as a point person for the Store Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the store.
  • Ensures that the store maintains high standards of Guest Services and staff development.
  • Manages the store's budget, expenses, and inventory control to maximize profitability.
  • Oversees the merchandising and inventory control processes to ensure optimal product placement and availability.
  • Assists in the training and development of store staff.
  • Manages the store's physical environment, including setting up fixtures and moving merchandise.
  • Handles customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring a positive guest experience.
  • Monitors and reports on store performance metrics to the Store Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum age requirement of 18 years old.
  • A flexible schedule is required.
  • Prior retail management experience is required.
  • Physical demands include 8+ hours of standing and walking, climbing ladders, setting up fixtures, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in retail management preferred but not required.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of retail operations and merchandising principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

Hourly rate ranges from $21.29 - $21.54 per hour and is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
