About the role
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the staffing, setup, merchandising, pack-up and teardown of a Seasonal Store. They are responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the various tasks involved in the overall operation of a store ensuring maximum sales/profitability by establishing and maintaining Guest Services, developing staff, controlling expenses, shrinkage and all aspects of merchandising and inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Store Manager in staffing, setup, merchandising, pack-up and teardown of a Seasonal Store.
- Serves as a point person for the Store Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the store.
- Ensures that the store maintains high standards of Guest Services and staff development.
- Manages the store's budget, expenses, and inventory control to maximize profitability.
- Oversees the merchandising and inventory control processes to ensure optimal product placement and availability.
- Assists in the training and development of store staff.
- Manages the store's physical environment, including setting up fixtures and moving merchandise.
- Handles customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring a positive guest experience.
- Monitors and reports on store performance metrics to the Store Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years old.
- A flexible schedule is required.
- Prior retail management experience is required.
- Physical demands include 8+ hours of standing and walking, climbing ladders, setting up fixtures, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in retail management preferred but not required.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Knowledge of retail operations and merchandising principles.

Pay
Hourly rate ranges from $21.29 - $21.54 per hour and is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
