About the role

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the staffing, setup, merchandising, pack-up and teardown of a Seasonal Store. The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the various tasks involved in the overall operation of a store ensuring maximum sales/profitability by establishing and maintaining Guest Services, developing staff, controlling expenses, shrinkage and all aspects of merchandising and inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Store Manager in the staffing, setup, merchandising, pack-up and teardown of a Seasonal Store.
  • Serves as a point of contact for guests and employees, ensuring a positive guest experience.
  • Develops and trains staff to meet performance goals.
  • Manages inventory levels and controls shrinkage.
  • Ensures compliance with store policies and procedures.
  • Monitors and maintains store appearance and cleanliness.
  • Manages store operations during peak periods to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assists in managing expenses and controlling costs.
  • Participates in store meetings and training sessions.

Requirements

  • Minimum age requirement of 18 years old.
  • A flexible schedule is required.
  • Physical demands include 8+ hours of standing and walking, climbing ladders, setting up fixtures, and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Prior retail management experience is required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in retail operations and management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of store operations, including staffing, merchandising, and inventory control.

Skills

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

Hourly rate ranges from $17.25 - $17.50 per hour and is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
