Assistant Store Manager
The Management in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role designed to prepare employees for promotion to Assistant Store Manager. This role involves assisting in managing store departments, providing customer service, and supporting various store activities.
- Assist in managing day-to-day business activities and functions across all store departments.
- Support the Store Manager in tasks such as production, sales, and distribution to maintain high operational and merchandising standards.
- Act as a role model to provide exemplary customer service and foster a positive work environment.
- Contribute to sales and promotional planning to enhance sales and productivity.
- Supervise merchandise pricing, inventory, and store presentation to ensure efficiency and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, government regulations, and safety standards.
- Manage staff schedules, assign tasks, recruit, select, train, evaluate, promote, and terminate employees.
- Evaluate department and employee performance to align with company objectives and financial targets.
- Investigate and document customer service and employee complaints, collaborating with internal teams to resolve issues.
- Participate in environmental and sustainability initiatives to promote recycling, conservation, and waste management.
Qualification
To qualify for the Assistant Store Manager position, candidates must hold an Associate degree in Business Administration or a related field, and have at least 1 year of managerial experience or equivalent in a retail setting. Bilingual proficiency in English/Mandarin, English/Cantonese, or English/Spanish is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Essential knowledge includes understanding of food production processes, product lines, and labeling. Essential skills encompass advanced attention to detail, communication, leadership, and time management. Other key abilities include active listening, critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and physical stamina.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing and walking are required. Manual dexterity is needed for grasping, manipulating, and assembling objects. The ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, noises, and conditions is essential. Lifting up to 50 pounds may be necessary with appropriate equipment.
Position Details
This is a full-time position located at 1920 W Chandler Blvd., Chandler, AZ 85224.
