Assistant Store Manager I

Job Summary

The Leonard Assistant Store Manager oversees daily operations including sales, customer service, and staff coordination in the Statesville, NC sales lot. This position supports the Store Manager and does not have direct reports.

Job Responsibilities

• Aids the Store Manager in managing sales, operations, and asset protection to ensure a great customer experience and maximum profitability.
• Assists with merchandising, inventory control, loss prevention, restocking, store cleaning.
• Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction by being knowledgeable about all products and working with colleagues to provide excellent sales service.
• Supports marketing strategies to drive sales and assists in managing cash and inventory levels.
• Aids in staff training and development to enhance sales and service performance, operational effectiveness, and positive customer interaction.
• Maintains compliance with company policies and operational guidelines.
• Achieves financial objectives by effectively controlling expenses.
• Identifies customer requirements by building rapport with customers to understand service needs.
• Protects employees and customers by ensuring a safe, clean, and organized store environment.

• PASS a background and drug test.
• Proven experience in a similar role in the retail sector.

• Understanding of Point of Sales systems.
• Understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including holidays and weekends.

Education/Experience Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, a related field, or equivalent job experience is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience in sales.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and move throughout the store and outdoor areas.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to handle tools and truck parts.
• Ability to work in varied weather conditions.
• Tolerance for environments with dust and loud noise.
